On Wednesday evening the company traveled to the Chester County Public Safety Training Center to continue with our training program. The topic of the night was forcible entry and truck work. The crews split into teams and while one crew was forcing the doors, the other crew was reviewing and throwing ground ladders. The training center is the perfect place for members to train with realistic conditions and allows for true hands on experience.

Crews reviewed and used numerous methods to force doors including using our rabbit tool (Hydraulic door opener) as well as traditional hand tool methods using a haligan bar and flat head axe.

The evening concluded with members using how to hold a room with a water extinguisher (can) all of which allows members to operate in a more safe, efficient and effective manner on the fire grounds when needed.

While there our neighbors from Thorndale were training in the burn building, which allowed crews to intermingle.
