Auto Accident on State Hill Route 10

Just after 13:00 hours, the company along with 34(Martins Corner), 33(Honey Brook) and Ambulance 144 from Westwood Wagontown Division were dispatched to Route 10 north of Eagles Dr. for an auto accident.

Chief 35 (Ziegler) responded and arrived onscene and found that a truck lost its load going up the hill and landed on a vehicle heading down the hill. Report was received from a firefighter onscene that the occupants of the vehicle had made it out safely and there was no entrapment.

With that information confirmed and everyone out, and the load of lumber all over the roadway the incident was scaled back to Rescue 35 and Ambulance 144. Traffic on the hill of the major artery was tied up fire police from Utility 35 and 34 along with 33 handled the traffic control issues.

The owner of the truck and the company he was hauling for called in crews to clean up the debris and clear the roadway. Route 10 was closed for over 2 and half hours while the incident was clear. During this time period Rescue 33 was diverted to Station 35 to cover the area as crews were tied up on this incident.

Once cleared the roadway was re-opened after 15:00 hours and the company clearing.
