On May 19th just after 6 PM Honey Brook Fire Company #1 along with units from Elverson-Honey Brook Area EMS(189) and Brandywine Hospital Paramedics(93) were alerted for an agricultural rescue at 3336 Horseshoe Pk. Rescue 33 and Engine 33-1 responded within minutes. While en-route units were updated with the information of a 3 Y/O child stuck in a manure pit. Units then requested the Chester County Technical Rescue Task Force (72) be added to the assignment. Once on-scene crews discovered the child was stuck in a below grade manure pit beneath the barn approximately 6-10 FT. Deputy 33 (Bailey) established Horseshoe Pike Command.

The Confined Space Task Force was dispatched and responded and shortly after the Boat was added from Wagontown for their Water Rescue equipment. Squad and Boat 35 made the response but as we arrived the already onscene task force units were removing the child. The crews then switched gears and donned Level B suits to assist with the Decon process of those who entered the pit.

Crews remained until all personnel went through the decon process and then returned.
