After months of research and design meetings, the fire company appointed Tanker Committee has approved and signed an agreement with Summit Fire Apparatus of Egdewood, Kentucky to build a new 3,000 gallon Stainless Steel Elliptical Tanker on a 2018 Freightliner 114SD chassis. The unit will be powered by a 505hp Detroit Diesel Engine and an Allison 4000 EVS Automatic Transmission. It will be equipped with a 1000gpm Hale Pump, 10" side and rear dumps, and will be equipped with all NFPA required equipment for rural water supply operations.

The Tanker Committee would like to thank Mike Jamison, Sales Manager, from Fireline Equipment in East Earl, PA., and Joe Messmer, President of Summit Fire Apparatus, for guidance in the process in taking this project from concept to design. We look forward to working closely with both as the unit is built and delivered.

Wagontown would also like to thank FEMA and the Assistance to Firefighter's Grant or otherwise known as the AFG grants for making this piece of apparatus possible. And also our grant writer John Sly who was instrumental in obtaining the grant.

Expected delivery is fall 2018.
