Early Morning accident on Rt. 340

At 07:50 hours the company along with Ambulance 41 and Medic 91 covering the local EMS due to a number of EMS incidents were dispatched to Creamery Rd and Rt. 340 for an accident. Units responded after dispatch as we were clearing another call, Chief 35 arrived to find a box truck through a pole with the top portion on top of the truck and the driver out.

Then upon further investigation further down the road we found a 2nd vehicle involved with the driver still inside. Rescue 35 arrived and stabilized the vehicle and then went to work removing the driver’s side doors. Crews then assisted EMS with patient removal and loading, while the Tac crew controlled the spilled hazards and debris. Fire police controlled traffic until relieved by PECo who was onscene to handle the pole.

All Fire and EMS units cleared at 10:00 hours.
