Last night we finished our two part series on Hazmat Operations refresher. This is a yearly requirement that we like to complete while the weather is supposed to be less cooperative. Tonight Jim Kettler from Bucks County came down and finished his presentations and he was joined by members of the Chester County Hazmat Team.

After the remaining classroom portion was complete, we went out to the Engine room where Hazmat 15-1 was parked inside. There Chief Emmons and Batt. Chief Kuklentz reviewed equipment carried, procedures for Decon and what was expected at an incident scene from the Fire Department to assist the Hazmat team members.

Members then got a chance to operate and see their latest addition to the team, there robot that can do recon on an incident that would otherwise put a team member in greater risk. The counties team is well equipped and we look forward to working with them in the future.
