Today at 14:42 hours the Wagontown Volunteer Fire Company with the mutual aid of the Coatesville Fire Department responded to a report of a chimney fire in the 500 block of W. King's Highway in Wagontown.

Crews arrived and went in service containing the fire and removing the contents of the fire box. Chains were dropped in the chimney and cleared any remaining burning debris after the use of dry powder extinguishment packages (fire bombs).

Upon further investigation it was determined that the fire insert needed to be removed and further debris cleared from within the firebox surrounding the insert. Crews were able to safely remove the insert and cleanup from the incident following the removal of the fire insert.

Wagontown would like to thank Coatesville Fire Department for their assistance and Lancaster County Station 4-9 for standing by at the 35 house and assisting in getting the apparatus back in order.

Thank you to IrishEyez Emergency Services Photography for the support and photos from today's incident.
