On Tuesday evening a 9 man crew of Brandywine Creek Forest Fire Crew and Wagontown members and Brush 35-1 responded to Skyline Dr. by the Reading pagoda to assist the DCNR Bureau of Forestry on the 50 acre Mt. Penn Fire.

The members arrived just before 6 pm and were assigned the left flank of the fire to hold the line that was just back fired, the crews made their way down over the famous wall and worked the mountain side until relieved around 23:30 hours by a crew from the Cressona area or District 18. The crew then made their way back up the mountain to the Skyline Dr. Command Post.

While the crew worked, Brush 35-1 patrolled Skyline Dr and worked hot spots on the to line to ensure nothing crossed the line while the crews from numerous agencies worked below.

At after midnight the crew and engine were released by IC Withers from DCNR. Great job by everyone working the fire tonight and those continuing to work the fire.
