Tonight was the second part of another series we have done for our weekly training, if you recall we had done Hose lines, Water Supply and now tonight concluded our Vehicle Rescue series.

Tonight we ran over to our friend Daryl Flings Towing on Hurley Road, Flings was nice enough to set up cars for use for our training in a scenario based event. Tonight’s training was centered on a T-Bone accident which happens quite frequently in our district. Crews were split between the Engine and Rescue one to each car to carry out an extrication.

The Rescue crew stabilized their vehicle and then went to work on removing the doors and performing a somewhat seldom used roof flap. While the Engine crew stabilized and removed their doors with a complete roof removal.

After completing the objectives of the training, we then got out the other tools we use less than normal and performed a dash roll with a come-a-long and then used the steering wheel cutter to cut the steering wheel to make more room for patient removal.

All of this training makes our members more familiar with the tools carried on the apparatus and that makes them more efficient in performing the needed tasks at an incident scene.

Once completed we all traveled to a friend’s house to drop a little something special off, after they suffered a loss.

Wagontown would like to thank all of the members who came out for training and especially to Flings Towing for making tonight's training happen.
