Late on Friday night Gerry Lindenlauf arrived with our pig for the pig roast, at about 10 pm the pig was loaded into the cooker to cook all night to be ready for our Pig Roast and Chicken BBQ on Saturday. Gerry obtained the pig and at a huge savings to the fire company he stayed and cooked and sliced the pork for our sale.

Gerry and a few members stayed overnight keeping an eye on the pig as it cooked, then early on Saturday morning the crew again showed up to light the fire in the chicken pit for our Chicken BBQ. Again 100 halves of chicken were cooked and prepped for sale by 11 am Saturday morning.

The chickens were donated by Hershey's Market, which was a huge savings to us. So once all 100 halves were cooked the ladies took over making the meals and handling the sales at the fire house. Meanwhile the rest of the crew loaded up and headed to West Brandywine Township Building for their annual Father's Day car show.

While at the car show we were able to sell our Chicken and Pig roast dinners and pulled pork sandwiches. We also were on hand to hand out fire prevention material, smoke detectors to those who needed them and talk with the public.

Members enjoyed the music by the live bands and enjoyed the beautiful day while at the car show. Back at the firehouse, the ladies were selling the pig and chicken at a good pace. At about 3 o'clock the chicken was sold out, and the pork was gone by 5 pm selling the last at the car show.

Wagontown would like to thank Gerry Lindenlauf, Hershey's market, Hillside foods, The firehouse crew that made the cookies and Giant and West Brandywine Township for assisting us or donating to make this event one of the best we have ever had.
