On Wednesday night training this week was held at the County Public Safety Training Center located on Modena Rd. Tonight’s topic was Part III of hose lines, long lines and finishing the Fire Attack series. Crews loaded up the apparatus and headed on down for scenarios tonight.

Using the training center, this provides a more realistic place to train with a water supply and safe from moving traffic. With this said we are able to really focus on training and providing a good learning environment.

The events tonight were designed on pulling hose lines and placing them for proper fire attack and followed up with good hose line management. Crews tonight staffed the engine and rescue for the scenarios.

1st one was getting the attack lines off, supply line laid and running off tank water till the supply line was charged, this is normally how we operate waiting on tankers to arrive and fill the supply line. In the mean time we use the tank water off the engine and rescue to initiate fire attack.

2nd event was actually tagging a hydrant and doing the same thing with hose line placement and management except having an established water supply off the hydrants, we do have some in the local.

The third was a combination of the two and crews worked to place lines, get a water supply and work to achieve the end goal of fire suppression.

Members had a good time training and a lot was learned in the last three weeks to ensure quick and proper pulling, placing and operating hand lines as well as the proper packing and getting the equipment ready for the next call.

Wagontown would like to thank all the members who came out, even the temperatures or assisting Coatesville earlier in the day did not hold the crew back.
