At 10:51 hours while the crew was standing by at the park for the adventure race, the company and Ambulance 144 handled a chimney fire in the 200 block of Skiles Rd in West Caln.

The Engine, Rescue and Tac made the response and arrived onscene to find a single family dwelling with an active fire in the flue pipe leading from the wood stove to the chimney in the basement.

Asst. 35 (Patton) established Skiles Command and crews worked to remove the section of pipe that was burning while Ladder 41-1 laddered the chimney to see if there was anything else burning in the chimney.

Crews placed the fire under control a short time later with no extension to the house and finished cleaning up. Company cleared the scene after an hour on location with the situation turned back over to the homeowner.
