Early this morning members gathered at the fire company to load up the Boat, Utility and Tac to head over to Hibernia Park to stand by for the annual G.O.A.L.S. Adventure race.

Despite the rain, many joined in the annual event which included the Savage Adventure Race and the 3 hour Adventure Sprint depending on their level of experience.

The Savage Adventure Race is a great race for those new to the sport, as well as for those seasoned athletes looking for a challenge. We'll give you up to 3 or 6 hours to complete the course.

Approximate race distances.......
5 miles of running, trekking, orienteering
10 miles of mountain biking
5 miles of canoe paddling plus fun team challenges.

Crews manned the boat for the canoeing portion where they entered the lake and canoed around the lake to various spots to obtain checks for their orienteering portion of the event.

Crews set up camp and watched as those who chose to do the optional boating portion due to the weather did so; their biggest challenge was to stay dry and warm.

Once the event was over around 16:00 hours they returned to clean up and return the equipment to service.
