Today at 11:57 hours the Wagontown Fire Company was alerted for an Engine to assist the Westwood Fire Company on a barn fire in the 3000 block of Strasburg Rd. Engine 35 made the response at 12:02 hours and was advised to set up a tanker fill site on Windy Hill Rd off of Strasburg Rd.

Engine 35 arrived and set up and started to fill tankers, quickly finding that this hydrant had an in-adequate water flow to support the operations, command was notified. This was in response to the amount of water needed on the fire grounds; the fill site would not fill the needs.

A time later the decision was made by command to relocate the fill site to Belvedere Av and Valley Rd. So Engine 35 broke down the operations on Windy Hill and relocated to the new fill site. Once there the fill site was re-established and with a better water supply the tanker fill site turnaround time greatly improved.

All in all between the two fill sites it is estimated that we pumped over 118,000 gallons of water filling the tankers used on the fire grounds of this fire.
