Early this morning at 05:02 hours the company was alerted to cover the Keystone Valley Fire Department for a fire alarm in the 400 block of Strasburg Ave in Parkesburg Boro. The reason we covered the Keystone VFD as they were operating on a working fire in the 300 block of Main St. in which one person was trapped and removed by the members of KVFD, unfortunately the victim succumbed to their injuries

The Engine with a crew of 5 and the Chief made the response and arrived a time later and found a faulty detector had activated. Once the company cleared the alarm, the Chester County Fire Radio asked if we could cover the Central station for the KVFD. No sooner did we back into the Central Station we were alerted to assist on the house fire on Main St.

The engine and chief made the response and arrived a short time later, once onscene the Operations Section put us to work in the second floor of the exposure building while the initial companies were busy in the initial fire building. Crews entered the second floor finding fire in the front bedroom which extended from the main fire building.

Crews worked to open up and extinguish the fire with the help of several of mutual aid companies, and then the members assisted with various other fireground activities until released by command.

Great job to all of the companies who assisted on this fire, Wagontown would like to extend our thoughts prayers to the family, friends and the KVFD during this difficult time.
