This past weekend Chief Ziegler and Deputy Chief Reber attended the PA State Fire Training weekend at the National Fire Academy in Emmittsburg MD.

This Annual Weekend Program, offered exclusively for the emergency services personnel of Pennsylvania, is a joint venture of the National Fire Academy (NFA) Field Programs Division, the Pennsylvania State Fire Academy (PSFA), and the Pennsylvania Fire & Emergency Service Institute (PFESI) as a co-sponsor.

The NFA hosts the program in Emmittsburg, Maryland and provides the instruction and course materials. The PA State Fire Academy selects the courses, recruits and registers the participants according to established student selection criteria. The attendees are able to network, attend services and the visit a Firefighter's Memorial and learn from the well-seasoned instructors in the various classes offered over the weekend.

The Chief's attended courses on Health and Safety and management of Fire Department operations, these courses are national level training provided by the staff at the national fire academy. This allows great training while also allowing for networking with other members of the fire service from all over PA during this weekend of training.

Chester County was well represented, ending in the top 5 counties attending. Companies from Chester County included Wagontown, Keystone Valley, West Grove, Malvern and Honey Brook.
