Just after 08:45 hours the Brush Company was alerted to assist the Westwood Fire Company with a large woods fire that was running up hill from the 300 Block of Glencrest Rd. Chief 31 (Grossman) arrived onscene to find a fire deep seated on the hill behind the houses running uphill.

At 08:50 hours Brush 35-1 & 2 made the response with the Squad following and their assignment was to meet up with Chief 35 (Ziegler) up on top of the fire on Eastview Dr. Crews then ran and 1 1/2 line thru the woods from Eastview and then gated the lines down and branched off to assist with fire suppression efforts on the advancing fire coming up the hill.

Crews worked with units from the area and several ATV's who assisted with the firefight. Crews had the fire contained by 09:50 hours and extensive mop up followed. Crews remained on scene until a little after 2 pm when the final units cleared the scene.

Great job by all on this fire today.
