Afternoon woods fire on Walton Lane

Today at 13:15 hours, the Company along with Ambulance 144 were dispatched to the 100 Block of Walton Lane for the reported woods fire. Chief 35 (Ziegler) made the response which was followed by Brush 35-1 and Brush 35-2 and the Squad.

The Chief arrived and found approx. 2 acres of woods on fire from a control burn that extended from it's container. Crews from Brush-1 worked the the left flank of the fire that was burning towards a shed, while Brush 2 supplied Brush 1 and worked the right flank which was moving towards the neighbors house. Crews worked against weather to contain the fire and the fire was marked under control at 13:59 hours.

Engine 31 (Sadsburyville) was dispatched and relocated to our station while the company operated on this incident.

Crews continued to mop the fire up and finally cleared around 16:00 hours.
