Entrapment Accident on Rt. 82 this morning

This morning just prior to 09:00 hours the Company along with Ambulance 144 were dispatched to the 100 Block of Monacy Rd for the accident. While enroute the accident location was changed by the Fire Radio to Route 82 and Monacy Rd.

Lieutenant 35B (G. Ziegler) arrived onscene to find a 2 vehicle accident with entrapment in one requesting the upgrade to the assignment. At the same time Ambulance 144 arrived and requested a 2nd BLS to the scene.

The assignment was upgraded and this added Station 49, Medic 93 and Ambulance 44 to the call. Rescue 35 arrived and the crew went to work stabilizing the vehicle and then was joined by the crews from Station 49 who worked together to extricate the one driver from the vehicle. Extrication was completed in 17 minutes.

Ambulance 144 and 44 both transported the patients to local hospitals and then 49 units cleared the scene. Fire Police closed Route 82 from 340 to Union Rd. 35 Units stood by until the accident scene was cleared and then returned just before 11 am.
