Earlier this week, the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioners Office announced award amounts for the 2014-15 Volunteer Fire Company Ambulance Grant Program. This program provides grants to enhance and improve firefighting, ambulance and rescue service capabilities of fire companies and ambulance services throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

This year Wagontown was awarded $13,890 to purchase new turnout gear for our members. The new gear will assist us in keeping our active members in the latest improvements in the way of turnout gear. In keeping with the NFPA requirements of the 10 year life span of turnout gear is difficult given our budget in the fireman's relief. This year the grant will assist us in staying on track with the gear requirements and protecting our members.

Wagontown would like to thank the Pennsylvania State Fire Commissioners Office for their continued commitment to improving emergency service within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
