Today while preparations were being made for a special visit by Santa, the crews ran a couple of calls. The First call right around 14:00 hours was to Route 340 & 82 for the accident reported to be on fire, which was originally dispatched as Rt. 340 & 10 which added Station 31 for the engine.

Rescue 35 & Chief 35 made the response along with Ambulance 144 and arrived to find bystanders using a portable fire extinguisher on a small engine compartment fire in one of the vehicles.

Crews quickly assessed the incident and found that the call was actually in Valley Township and was moved off the roadway. So the assignment was held to 35 & 44 units.

All occupants were uninjured and refused EMS services and the fire units stood by until the roadway was clear and then cleared the scene themselves.

The second call came just after 15:00 hours to the 400 Block of Old Wilmington Road where the Brush Company extinguished a large uncontrolled burn.

Chief 35 arrived to find a large pile of construction debris on fire and crews from Brush 35-2 and Brush 35-3 ran a line to extinguish the large pile. The Ambulance Crew from 144 assisted with the extinguishment of the pile as well.

Once the crews had the fire under control and extinguished the company returned around 16:30 hours to prepare for tonight's events.

Then around 17:30 Chief 35 handled a public service call on Farmland way and was clear at 18:00 hours.
