Over this past weekend the Chief's of Wagontown attended the PA State weekend at the National Fire Academy. This year the Chester County Contingent was comprised of members from the Keystone Valley Fire Department which included Chief Stackhouse and Deputy Chief Gathercole along with their other line officers, Chief Vaughn of the Malvern Fire Company, Chief Messner of the Honey Brook Fire Company and Lt. Forde from the West Grove Fire Company.

Each year the National Fire Academy has state weekends in which members from the host state can receive National Fire Academy courses on campus during the weekend.

Various topics of training were held this past weekend, in which the Chief's of Wagontown were able to attend the Courtroom Testimony and training on courtroom procedures for Command Officers program instructed by Darrell Hawkins an attorney from Ohio.

The classes are provided to offer courses that are not offered locally and in the traditional setting of the fire academy. After class on Saturday night, we attended the memorial service that was held to honor the four fallen firefighters from Pennsylvania last year.

This opportunity provided the members attending the opportunity to network and develop new friendships as well as renew old ones.

Wagontown would like to thank the PA State Office of the Fire Commissioner for their hard work that went into this weekend making it as successful as it was.
