| On Friday afternoon around 12:37 hours the company was dispatched to the 100 Block of Pratts Dam Rd for a unknown type fire. Chief 35 arrived with a large controlled burn, further investigation revealed that there were numerous spot fires from the burning embers being cast from the pile. Engine, Tanker, Brush and Tac all made the response and used numerous hand lines to work the fires. Crews worked for about 2 hours to bring the fire under control. Engine 49-5 from East Brandywine was requested for additional water supplies which was used to extinguish the fires. Crews cleared about 2 and half hours later. The high heat and humidity took it's toll but the crews toughed it out and handled this incident. |
