| On Thursday morning at 11 am the water rescue team met up with the Hibernia Park Staff to assist them with closing a portion of the lake for migrating bird season. This is usually handled in house by the park staff, however their boat is out of service for maintenance and they needed a helping hand. Boat 35 launched and assisted by park rangers deployed the barrier system at the far western end of the lake. Crews were on the water for about a half hour working to close that section. Upon completion of the job, the crews and park rangers returned to the station to decon their equipment and put everything back in service. It's these times where we can assist each other in achieving the goals of public safety and allowed our crew to run the boat and test our systems. |
