On Friday members traveled to Harrisburg to participate in the Allison Hill Fire Academy. Friday evening members attended a social gathering at the Allison H & L No.2. This time was spent meeting the course instructors and fellow classmates. Members also had the opportunity to tour the firehouse and learn about the history of the Harrisburg Bureau of Fire. Saturday morning members met at the HACC-Shumaker Public Safety Center for the Short Staffed Engine Company Operations course. The course focused on single and two person hose line operations in structure fires, and how to effectively deploy handlines in stairwells for second and third story fires. Thank you to the Allison H & L No.2, Instructor Jeff "Skull" Miller, and Instructor John Peskie for the knowledge and experience.
