For the first time in 14 years, the Wagontown Fire Company announces the appointment of a new Fire Chief. Current Deputy Fire Chief, Michael Reber will become the Fire Chief starting January 1, 2023, for a term of three (3) years. Current, long-time Fire Chief, Todd Ziegler announced early in 2022 he did not plan to seek another term and was ready to step back to enjoy some other interests. To help with the transition Chief Ziegler will assume the Deputy Fire Chief position for 2023.

The new Fire Chief comes with 37 years of fire service experience, starting in the Downingtown Fire Department, with the most recent 10 years being at Wagontown. Chief Reber is also a 26 year member of the Chester County Fire Training School staff, instructing various fire/rescue courses.

In his role as Fire Chief, the new chief looks to continue the effort of improving the fire company’s operations in the everchanging landscape of fire and rescue services. Chief Reber aims to continue providing the quality protection and service residents and visitors of our coverage area have come to expect.

We would like to thank Chief Ziegler for his many years of leadership and dedicated service and look forward to him supporting Chief Reber in leading our organization’s operation going forward.
