Recognition Ceremony at West Brandywine Township

On Thursday evening the West Brandywine Township Board of Supervisor's held a ceremony prior to their monthly business meeting to take time to recognize the Township's emergency service providers who responded to the house fire on July 21st 2021 in the township. Chairman of the Board John Cassels lead the ceremony in which all of the Township's emergency services were recognized for their response and efforts in handling this incident. Westwood EMS was the first to receive their award and Chief McWilliams and EMS Chief Kennedy were on hand to receive the award. Next was the East Brandywine Fire Company and Deputy Chief Edwards was there and received their award.

Then the Board presented Chief Ziegler with the one for the Wagontown Fire Company. After the Township presented the fire company theirs, Chief Ziegler then presented the Township with a Unit Citation for their support and assistance during this incident and willingness to help in any way they could and were a huge asset in the handling of the incident.

The Fire Chief presented the Police Department with a unit citation recognizing the extrordinary efforts by the West Brandywine PD that day. Police Officer Garcia and Lt. Michels were presented our unit citation uniform bars for their work in rescuing the occupants that say. Police Chief Kimes was presented one for his work in regards to filling numerous positions in the command structure including landing the medical helicopters at the township park.

It was because of this teamwork by all the agencies involved the incident was handled in a very professional manner.
