On Wednesday evening the members gathered for training, tonight was building on the previous ropes and knots training held for our weekly training. Tonight's topic was the low angle rope rescue practices that may be employed to assist in bringing someone up from an angle below the hill. The night began with a review of setting up the picket system which is used when there is no suitable anchor to use to secure the load. After that was completed crews practiced lowering and raising a load which would normally include a stokes basket and crew members. This is good practice as we have many areas where this training will come into good use. |
