This morning at 0805 hours the Wagontown Fire Company was dispatched to the unit block of Winged Foot Drive in Valley Township for a reported house fire, Westwood Fire Company was dispatched a few minutes earlier for a fire alarm and upgraded the assignment.

This structure assignment brought additional units from the Sadsburyville and Wagontown Fire Companies and the Coatesville Fire Department.

Wagontown, Sadsburyville and Coatesville personnel all arrived within minutes and supported the first due units. The fire was quickly under control with all hands working.

The fire is being investigated by the Chester County Fire Marshal’s Office. Photographs courtesy of IrishEyez Photography.

Fortunately, there were working smoke detectors in the home which alerted the residents who were upstairs at the time of the fire, giving them time to evacuate safely. This incident shows that smoke detectors in the home save lives. If you need help installing smoke detectors in your home, please feel free to reach out to us at the Wagontown fire company.
