Company runs accident
with Entrapment

On Friday evening
while crews were preparing for the
upcoming chicken BBQ, the company was
dispatched for N. Sandy hill Rd north of
Rt. 340 for the accident with
possible entrapment. Chief 35 (Ziegler)
responded and arrived on location to
find one still inside the overturned
truck with neck and back pain. Rescue 35
arrived and stabilized the truck using
usual cribbing methods and come a long
to secure the truck. Engine 35 arrived
and sent their manpower to the scene
to assist. Engine 34-1 was assigned
fire suppression where they pulled a
line and crews assisted with the
extrication. Crews then removed the
roof so the patient could be packaged
and removed from the vehicle. Extrication was completed in 19 minutes
despite the very hot conditions with the
weather the way it was. The subject was
transported to a local hospital for
treatment.
