Wagontown attends
structural burn with Coatesville
December 18th 2007
By Asst. Chief Ziegler
On a very brisk Saturday morning, the crews
from Wagontown left for the West Chester
Fire Training School. The purpose was for a
joint training with the Coatesville Fire
Department (41 &43). The morning was met by
a briefing from Captain Steve Dobson of
Coatesville who went over the training
objectives for today's events. In the
morning crews worked first and second floor
fires, which allowed for the Wagontown crews
to master the newly added High Rise/Long lay
pack. Crews then worked with the Coatesville
Fire department and Mittal Steel Emergency
Service personnel in mixed teams. Crews
then drilled on first and second floor
fires as a means of access to these fires.
While the senior members where in the burn
building, the juniors were taken to the
drill tower for some air pack work, in the
mazes by FF Guyer from the CFD. All in
all it was a very good day for the working
relationships of the companies involved.
Thanks go out to the CFD for the invite and
the crew from Modena (37) who stood by while
most of the members attended the training.
