to a motor vehicle accident with entrapment
at 1300 hours along with station 49 (East
Brandywine), Medic 93, and station 34
(Martin's Corner), station 76 (Coatesville
VA) was added for manpower assist. Deputy 37
(Modena) was in the area and provided an
initial report and setup command until 35
chief officers arrived on scene. Deputy 37
also provided some of the photos below.
The driver's left leg was pinned in the
heavily damaged front end of the vehicle.
EMS crews from 34, 49, and Medic 93 provided
patient care while 35, 49, and 76 crews
worked together to remove the driver's door
and roof so that the ram could be used to
push the dashboard assembly off of the
patient and disentangle the driver's leg.
Extrication was complete within 22 minutes
of the arrival of Rescue 35.
Station 34 handled landing zone operations
for SkyCare, and ferried the flight crew in
to the scene to assist with patient care and
transport to the helicopter to transport to
a trauma center.
