This morning members braved the snow and
traveled to the Philadelphia Fire
Academy on Pennypacker St to attend a
seminar hosted by the Philadelphia
Office of Emergency Management. The
seminar was on the June 22nd 2009 Metro
train incident that occurred in
Washington DC. The guest speaker on the
subject this morning was Chief Dennis
Rubin from the DCFD. The program
high-lighted the importance of using the
ICS system while handling a Mass
Casualty Incident, also reviewed the
obstacles that the Fire, EMS and police
had to overcome to access the incident.
Also spoken of was the working
relationships of all emergency services
providers prior to a large scale
incident occurring. Wagontown would
like to thank the Philadelphia Office of
Emergency Management, Philadelphia Fire
Department and all those who made this
mornings program a success.
