Engine attends Rural Water movement
exercise in Glenmoore

Tonight Wagontown was invited to
participate in a Rural Water Movement
drill with Glenmoore Fire Company by
Chief Brown. The goals of tonight were
to see if water could be moved to
support a major fireground operation.
The building used was the new Elementary
School on Fairview Rd. Engine 35 was
assigned to set up a fill site on Rt.
282 just across from the Wallace
Township building, with that Engine 35
arrived at Station 48 at around 19:00
for the briefing. After the briefing the
engine proceeded to the fill site and
set up for drafting operations. Once
there the engine pulled a draft and
supplied 2 3" lines to fill tankers.
This was an excellent training drill for
us as we rarely set up a fill site and
the turn around time overall was less
than 9 minutes. Other members in the
Squad watched the on-scene operations
and the flowing of master streams and
handlines. Some very good points were
taken from this exercise and we would
like to thank Chief Brown for inviting
us up to participate.
Units: Engine & Squad 35
