This Saturday was the Chicken BBQ for the firehouse fund raiser along with activities for the Pool's 50th anniversary. Members arrived early to start the grills for the chicken and preparing the assembly line for the meals once the crowds arrived. The morning was quiet, then around noon the company was dispatched to the 2900 Block of Compass Rd for the barn fire.  The engine house cleared out with the response of everything but Brush 1, meanwhile other volunteers stayed back to man the chicken pits.  After the barn fire was found to be a minor mulch fire which occurred while the owner was fueling the tractor.  The engine arrived onscene and went in-service with the booster line to wet down the area, owners had the fire knocked on arrival.  Once back at station the crews continued to work the BBQ, fill the dunk tanks for the pools events and other items.  Fire Police handled the motorcycle road rally that came through at 10 am along Route 10.
