By Wagontown Volunteers
July 18, 2019

Early this morning at 02:49 Hours the Company along with Mutual aid was dispatched to the 100 block of Pierce Lane for the reported house fire. Upon responding the units were advised of a bed room fire possibly from a TV. Engine 35 marked up followed by the Chief and then the tanker along with Ladder 41-1.

Engine 35 arrived and went onscene with a 2 story single family with nothing showing, Lieutenant 35C established the command until the Chief arrived, further investigation found a bedroom fire that was knocked with an extinguisher and a smoke condition in the 2nd floor. Ladder 41-1 and Engine 35 crews ensured the fire was out and checked for extension. Rescue 33's crew assisted with a secondary search and once ensured the fire was out crews went to work with ventilation. The scene was scaled back to companies on the scene and Engine 31-1 stood by covering the locals from the scene.

Crews then awaited the arrival of the Chester County Fire Marshals who conducted the investigation and once the investigation was complete crews then overhauled the fire room. Companies cleared the scene around 6 am after all of the incident needs were met.

This is another case where working smoke detectors alerted occupants of the presence of fire, so please take time to check your smoke detectors and ensure they are working.

Units: Engine, Rescue and Tanker 35

Mutual Aid: 31 (Sadsburyville), 33 (Honey Brook), 41 (Coatesville FD), 44 (Westwood) and Medic 93 along with the Chester County Fire Marshals and PSP Fire Marshal
