Busy weekend for Wagontown Volunteers

On Friday night at 22:58 hours the Company along with Ambulance 144 and Medic 93 were dispatched to the intersection of S. Sandy Hill Rd and Old Wilmington Rd for an auto accident involving a motorcycle. The units remained onscene for an extended period assisting the PD with the accident investigation.

Then on Saturday morning while we were preparing for our annual Pig Roast in conjunction with the West Brandywine Father;s day car show. The Company was dispatched to the West Bound Route 30 bypass west of Airport Rd for an auto fire. Chief and Engine made the response along with Traffic 35. The company located the accident in the 31 local at WB Rt 30 and Business 30 adding Engine 311 to the assignment.

The crew from Engine 35 extinguished the fire and was released by Asst. 31 and the traffic stayed to assist until the incident was cleared.

Then at 12:01 hours the Company was alerted for an outside fire in the 3400 block of Compass Rd. Tac and Engine 35 made the response to find a trash fire adjacent to a vacant silo that was an exposure problem. The companies ran a line and cooled the silo and extinguished the burning pile of building construction materials.

While on the outside fire, the Company was again alerted to assist EMS in the 100 Block of Hurley Rd. Squad and Deputy 35 made the response but were recalled by EMS prior to arrival.

Crews then returned to restore the apparatus and continue on with the Pig Roast and the Car show.
