On Wednesday just after lunch a storm front moved through which brought rains and strong winds which lasted well into the night. At 15:45 Hours the Company was dispatched to the 100 Block of Barons Hill Rd for wires down and causing a brush fire.

The TAC, Engine and Chief made the response to arrive and find that PECO power lines were down and starting a brush fire, crews watched the area and awaited the arrival of PECO to secure the power prior to extinguishing the fire.

Once PECO had the power cut to the area, the crew extinguished the fire and the company cleared an hour and a half later.

Then Wednesday night for training was the beginning of our Wildland Refresher training, just like anything else we do in the fire/rescue fields training is important and tonight was no different. Crews did the annual refresher training in accordance to the RT-130 standards and then reviewed tools as well as a couple of case studies from incidents that occurred at these types of fires.

Wagontown is committed to providing the best possible service to those we serve and training is the foundation to that process.
