On Wednesday night we finished our annual Hazardous Materials Operations training which was instructed by Jim Kettler who is from the Bucks County Fire Training, Jim is involved with the Hazmat Team in Bucks County and this year he partnered with the Chester County Hazmat Team for our last night of training.

Jim finished the required review materials then the Chester County Hazmat team reviewed their abilities and equipment and then we reviewed the Decon Line which is set up for every Hazmat incident. This is an operations level assignment so this is what we would be doing in the event of a hazmat incident. Members refreshed on the set up, equipment needed and personal protective equipment required.

We are lucky to have such a team in the county where others have to wait for a neighboring team or contractor to respond. Training is key to making incidents such as these go smoothly and safely.

Thank you to all who made this a great night of training.
