On Friday late in the day a storm front began to move through our area, the storm brought heavy rain at first then switched to snow which brought extreme wind conditions. The company began to run a number of weather related incidents , from trees and wires to trees down blocking the roadways. Then on Saturday evening after things quieted down a little the company was dispatched with Ambulance 144 for an accident on Rt. 82 in the 1100 Block.

A vehicle had left the roadway and struck a pole knocking the pole down and closing Rt. 82 for an extended period. Crews checked and secured the hazards and then began to wait for a PECO response. after several hours, PECO still had no ETA due to the storm. West Brandywine Twp. Road crew then closed Rt. 82 and relieved the cold fire police who were closing the roadway.

Then early Sunday morning the company was dispatched to a trees and wires call on Beacon Light Rd off Old Wilmington Rd. The Tac arrived to find the previously reported wires fire had burned through the tree and set the tree on fire. The wires were now clear and the company went to work on extinguishing the fire and cleared this call around 0200 hours.

All throughout the weekend members we ready and willing to assist with anything they were called for.
