By Wagontown Volunteers
February 4, 2016

Tonight at 19:04 hours the Company was dispatched for the Boat to assist the Honey Brook Fire Company at Beaver Dam and Birdell Roads in Honey Brook Twp. While enroute the County Fire Radio advised that there were two vehicles each with an occupant in them stranded in the high waters on Beaver Dam rd.

Squad and Boat 35 quickly made the response as crews were on station for our weekly training night, ironically the topic of tonight was Ice / Water Rescue. 4 members quickly loaded in the squad with the Chief and Deputy enroute also. While enroute the report was confirmed and when the Squad and Boat arrived a plan was devised and the boat was launched.

Rescue members Yearsley and Whitely donned their dry suits enroute and then deployed the boat, first making contact with the first victim who was placed in a PFD and secured in their vehicle and then the crew decided to move on to the second vehicle and remove that occupant who was in deeper water. Once the second victim was in the boat they returned and picked up the first victim bringing them both safely to dry land.

EMS checked the victims and the boat crew returned and began to secure and stow their gear for the return trip home.

Units: Squad 35, Boat 35, Chief and Deputy

Mutual Aid: Honey Brook Fire Company, Elverson / Honey Brook EMS and Medic 93 along with PSP Embreeville
