The morning started around 11:30 when the Engine was requested to relocate to Coatesville's Station 41 while they were on a house fire with an explosion at Primrose and Walnut Streets in Coatesville City.

The Engine responded and while they were there they assisted the Sadsburyville Fire Company on a building fire on Gunard Carlson Blvd in Sadsbury Twp. At this incident the companies arrived to find a fork lift fire inside a warehouse at the facility they responded to.

The units from Station 31 quickly had the situation under control and the engine was released to relocate back to Coatesville.

Then around 15:45 hours as the crews were clearing the relocate a house fire assignment was dispatched for the 1500 block of Birdell Rd in West Caln Township. The Chief, Engine and Rescue marked up shortly after dispatch and were advised that they had a garage fire.

As units were responding, they were advised of a working fire. Chief 35 then requested a working fire dispatch which brought additional resources to the scene.

Asst. 49 arrived onscene and advised of an attached garage which was extending into the house, Chief 35 arrived next establishing Birdell Rd Command. Rescue 35 arrived first and pulled past the dwelling and crews lead off with 2 lines. Engine 35 was next in which then feed Rescue 35 with their water and the next arriving units from Honey Brook and East Brandywine established a water supply and sent their manpower to the scene.

Crews worked for over an hour to control and extinguish this fire and assist the County Fire Marshals as they did their investigation.

Crews did an outstanding job despite the heat in which additional units were brought in for additional manpower. During the incident 3 firefighters did receive minor injuries in which one required transport to a local hospital for treatment.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family as they work through their time of loss, we also wish a speedy recovery to the resident who was injured during this fire.

Units: Engine 35, Rescue 35, Brush 35-2, Utility 35, Ambulance 144 and Command 35

Mutual Aid: 49, 33, 44, 76, 48, 46, 37, 41, LC49, LC34, 46, FM100, FM103 and West Caln PD and Township
