April 16, 2014
Tonight started the Vehicle Rescue refresher training for the members of Wagontown. Members have finished all their required refreshers so far which has included the annual Haz-Mat Operations Refresher, Rapid Intervention Team refresher, Wildland Firefighting and various other topics.
So tonight was part 1 where the basics of Stabilization were covered using various methods which included wood cribbing, Junk Yard dogs stabilization struts and other creative methods which can be employed to ensure a car is secure before extrication methods begin to ensure safety to the patients inside the vehicle.
Part II which is coming up will go over using the hydraulic power tools as well as other tools in our cache of equipment on the Rescue.
Stay tuned for more updates on what is happening at Wagontown.
